To me, the best smelling record of all time is “They Only Come Out at Night” by the Edgar Winter Group, which was issued in 1972 on the Epic label.
The album smelled a little musky, a little floral, a little romantic, a little musical, a little like an adventure, and a little like the future.
Just in case the smell ever faded, I bought another copy, but it didn’t smell the same.
Sheryl says maybe a woman wearing perfume slid the album into its jacket and her perfume was captured when the album was shrink wrapped.
I like that idea and wish that the woman knew that she created the greatest smelling record of all time.
